Import Project and apply Blueprint

I have multiple projects to add to Wrike. I can format the information into the Excel import format - but I can't assign a blueprint to the imported project. Nor can i apply a blueprint manually after they are imported.

How can I use blueprints with imported projects?

Hi Simon!

You may be missing a few steps prior to being able to apply or create from a blueprint.

Do you have any existing blueprints in Wrike yet? Under settings in your space, there is a blueprints tab where you can create all new blueprints - based on how you want a project or task to look.

If you are trying to establish a blueprint for your projects to fall into, you can also upload one of the projects you have, and create a blueprint from there. After creating one of your projects in Wrike, click on the menu button at the top right corner and select save as blueprint. This will create a blueprint of the current project to which you can then use to create other projects from.

Once you have a saved blueprint, you can create projects from blueprints by selecting that blueprint and choosing create from blueprint in the menu.

I'm not sure Blueprints are the right thing here, although it's true you can't apply a Blueprint. Blueprints are more used for the purpose of streamlining repetitive projects/tasks to reduce the need to constantly build out the same structure in my understanding.

Are you trying to utilize Custom Item Types for the project you're importing? Is that a better way to address this? If so, you can manually change the items over to Custom Item Types (although some elements don't change when you do this but automations and things can apply).

In the Excel you are also able to apply Custom Workflows. So that might be helpful.

Can you help clarify why you specifically want to apply a Blueprint?
