Automation Rules: Notify/Mention users from custom field type "user"

Hi,

when using automation rules you can choose "Mention users in comment" as action. Unfortunately it is not possible to choose custom fields there.

We have a custom field of the type user. It would be great if we could notify the user in the custom field via automation rules.

Hi @Marco Eberl, thank you for sharing your use case with the Community. As you mention, it is not currently possible to automatically change the values of custom fields via automation. In the case you describe, the best solution would be to use the option you have also mentioned, "Add comment or mention".

@[Deleted User] I guess you didn't get Marco right. In my understanding he likes to @mention people by automation, not change the value of a custom field. But instead of @mentioning all followers or dedicated persons, all entries of a user-type custom field should be mentioned.

This could be a game changer! I added the RACI diagram using the custom field type ‘user’ and hoped that at least those Accountable and Informed users could be automatically notified by Wrike, but unfortunately, after reading this thread, I realised that this is not possible

What a bad news, this makes the custom field type ‘user’ a little less valuable.
