Quick search more powerful than actual search? Unable to save search to dashboard?

Hey, I am trying to search for certain tasks using the following search term:

Title: Purchase NOT 2023 status: active

My goal is to find all purchase related tasks that don't include the word 2023, that are active. I am able to see the correct results in the quick search preview, but I can't actually work with this. Once I hit enter to have a work-able list, my search term doesn't work anymore.

If that wasn't enough, I used to be able to save a search-result into my dashboard to have an ongoing, updated list of that search. This feature was removed. It is frustrating.

A powerful search tool should be a standard feature in an enterprise level project management software...

Could you please clarify - when you say your search results list doesn't work when you hit "Enter", what can you see exactly?

Hi Lisa,

thanks for answering! What I refer to is described in your help center. Wrike offers a handful of helpful search operators that only work in the quick search as described here. Quote: "Note: The command only works for quick search and stops filtering tasks once you click the Search button and go to full search results."

With hitting enter I mean going to the full search results. The quick search isn't helpful when you want to work with the search results (multi select found tasks, work down the list, export to CSV etc. )

I don't understand why these operators don't work in the full search.

I'd recommend using filters instead. Are you using any specific custom fields for purchase tasks? You can also use time frame filters to exclude tasks from 2023.

Hey Lisa,

Thanks for the recommendation. I gave it a try but it is not working for me unfortunately. The reason is that there are no custom fields in our PO tasks. The only distinct attribute in the PO tasks in our workspace is in their name.

The filter option does not allow filtering a certain string in the task name, though.

Can you look into the fact that you can use search operators in the quick search but not in the full search? I can't come up with a reason why that would be the case.

I came across this issue while looking for something else regarding the search functionality. However, when I read the comment about hitting 'Enter' and getting full search results, I didn't think that was an option so I gave it a try. It didn't do anything. I don't get anything beyond the initial search results. Are the "full search results" no longer available?
