Clear Last Searched Item

I would like to suggest an update to search feature. Currently, it automatically remembers the last thing you searched for and leaves it in the search field. This means that every time a new search is desired, the last search must be manually cleared before inputting new search terms. Often times this is missed and can lead to old+new search parameters being input.

Can the search field auto-clear the previous entry after it has been searched? This would be very helpful as my team frequently searches several things in succession.

I'm sorry – my comment sounds harsher (reading it now) than it meant to be.
Its just in my view keyboard shortcuts are meant to streamline the editing experience and it is kind of like a bump in the road, every time you use it.

Would love this. I work quickly in searching, and it's frustrating to hit command-K and start typing (like what Slack seamlessly does) only to see that the search field is already populated with a previous search. So I have to stop and delete it every time.
