Add Actual Project Completion Date - Not Just the Date of Completion

I believe the above post is a step in the right direction.. but a feature I didn't see mentioned which I think is the main feature needed in this post is. Here is a specific use case - what if I have a task that is "Send email out" due 4/15, in which the email is automatically sent out through an online system, but I am out of office until 4/20, so I can't mark it complete until I get back to the office. My completion date will be 5 days late, but the email was actually sent out on the 15th. The work around of adding a custom field of actual completion will work, but a more concrete feature would be very useful in reporting and in day to day use!

I have been looking for this feature. Has it already been integrated by the Wrike team? It would really be helpful if we can have an actual completed date (vs. the original deadline) and if the connected tasks could move their deadlines based on the actual completed date of the triggering task. Any advice on how this can be done easily if the feature isn't made yet? Thank you.

I vote for a Competed date for Projects in reporting. It seems odd that we can report on the date a Project is completed?

Just thought I would share my temporary (and limited functionality) solution for this.

We use automation to send complete jobs to a completed archive folder for the year.
We run a simple report to compile all completed jobs in this folder on a periodic schedule then download the report as an Excel.
Take the current report, add it to the last report and tell Excel to remove duplicate lines.
This leaves us with jobs completed within the last interval.

Not nearly as flexible as it could be if Wrike took the reins.

Mary thanks for sharing your work around. We do a similar process but when you get hundreds of projects it become a timely process. It would be a lot easier if we could report on the actual completion date for the project.

Agree! There are times when we want to report or filter dashboard widgets on "recently completed" or "completed this week/month" projects. Except all we can do is filter by finish (i.e. due) date, and that leads to projects that had due dates outside of our time frame, but were marked completed within the time frame we're looking for left out of the results. Not to mention the opportunity for performance metrics looking for trends between date due and actual date completed.

You can run a report on "completion date" for tasks, but not projects. This is a quite a serious miss for reporting options in my opinion. If the data exists in wrike, you should be able to run a report on it. No matter if it's a task or project.

This seems like pretty native functionality that is missing. In order to see what projects completed last month, for example, we'd have to make sure all task due dates are updated to when they were actually completed so the date rollup can then update the project due date to when it was completed. With this, we lose the ability to see if something was completed early or late. It, also, can skew the dependencies of tasks by making them appear to be due earlier than truly needed due to having to adjust task dates due when completing something early. The date it is marked complete is in the audit trail so it should be able to be captured in the completed date field, as it is with tasks.
