Private messages needed!

We use Wrike a ton with our clients, and it would be great to add a private message feature, so that Collaborators cannot see messages between full users sometimes. Teamwork, our old platform, had this feature and it was SUPER useful. Because our clients see every comment in the Wrike project they are part of, it has led our users to go outside of the tool to interact as to not show the client everything.

Please consider this!!!!

Ehhhhh Anastasia, Instachat is not really the same thing. I would like to see private comments on a task. not just an instant messenger, then the comments get lost outside of the project and task

I have to agree with Sonja. Private messaging allows for the message to be captured in the same place as all comments and, in the same date/time order - they're just viewable only to the specific individuals.

@Sonja and @Susan, thanks for clarifying! I see what you mean now, initially I thought you were looking for a way to have these exchanges outside of the comment stream. Thank you once more for adding these additional details here!

Hi, everyone, today I have a suggestion for this thread.
We are working on a Guest Review feature that may help with this request, if you need clients to collaborate on files and approve them. It allows you to create a review and add an external person as a reviewer by email. In other words, they won’t need Wrike credentials and won’t see any task details or comments on the file made by other Wrike users. They'll only see a personal message from the person who added them and replies to comments they've (the Guest Reviewer) has added.

This feature is available in Labs now and will be released in a month or two. Please note, that it is available only for users with Wrike for Marketers or with the Proofing & Approvals add-on.

We should be able to communicate to members of our own team through Wrike without having to make a task first. Not the same as communicating with people outside. Seems an odd feature to leave off..

I'm definitely in agreement. When I get done with a call from a client, I like to be able to input my notes... and some of those are NOT for the clients eyes.

As a trainer, and needing to give details to the Project Owner - a client would find it derogatory when I add a a note such as:

"Client did not appear to have a secure grasp on the tasks. As he went through the motions, he would request affirmation before selecting the actions needed. The sessions with this client are turning into more of a babysitting task than a training session, as he doesn't appear to be performing any tasks when not on the phone with me." ....

(In case having an actual scenario helps with your Product Development team... it usually does with ours.)

We have the same need. E.g. if I need to ask the project manager to reassign the task to somebody else, I have to do it in skype or somewhere else. This information is good to keep inside the ticket. But it should not be shown to the customer.

@Wrike I see, that this feature is interesting for many customers. I do not see any comments from your side, according to your plans about it. The only this flow will be in some months 2(!) years old. Are you going to implement this functionality? Do you suppose, that this functionality is not necessary for your tool? As far as I understand, the "Guest Review" feature does not match at all.

This feature is required for our team as well, there are tasks where internal notes cannot be shared with our customers or external contractors. Need to have a permission based private messaging. Voting for this

Private messages on a project are a must. Today I too looked for this feature. I wanted to communicate with the project manager without a task assignee able to read the communication while keeping it tied to the project. This would be very beneficial for employee performance reviews
