Use Custom Fields in Email notifications

Currently, you're limited to selecting from a set list of parameters in the Email notifications automation like [item name] [status] [assignee] [start date] [due date] [author] [last modified date]. It would be fantastic to include information from a customer field. For instance, we have a field called "Job #." It would help to include that in notifications when a project status changes, etc.

For tasks generated through intake forms, you have the option to map the information to a custom field in addition to the description. All description information will be visible in the initial email notification. However, please note that in a chain of emails, this information will only appear in the initial email. This approach serves as a workaround for our users who may not log into Wrike daily and primarily depend on email notifications to stay updated.

@Ali Moses, I'm referring to email notifications when a project is already being worked on, and I want to notify a team that a status has changed, etc. Right now, I can only use the following [item name] [status] [assignee] [start date] [due date] [author] [last modified date], but since I use a custom field like "Job #," I can't include that in the email notifications.

Is it possible to use a custom field that contains a specific email address to send an automated email from gmail? I need to be able to send reminder emails to clients at various times depending on dates associated with the task.

Hi @Dustin Berg 👋 Currently, it's not possible to use a custom field with a specific email address to send an automated email directly from Gmail. However, if there are any developments in this area in the future, I'll be sure to update you.

This would be incredibly useful and also to extend this to the Slack messaging that can be setup from the Automation rules.

As a use case:

We have a custom field that contains a url to another, non Wrike resource (a google doc or confluence link for example).

When a task hits a certain status in the workflow we trigger a Slack message to our team to alert them that their approval is required.

Currently we include a link to the Wrike task for the user to then follow and then they have to find the the non Wrike resource custom field, follow the link and start their review.

If we had the ability to include our custom field in the Slack message we would be able to trigger the work directly from the notification.

I'm also looking for this functionality. The ability to add custom fields to email notifications would greatly improve our process management. We use this to process task across multiple product lines, but each product has a lot of overlap in the reoccurring tasks. Currently if task X gets updated and sends a notification, it doesn't tell the audience enough information as the needed info is located in a custom field.

Same here for our company. It would benefit our workflow for example for newsletters as we use custom fields for topics - our writer is external so he does not use Wrike. He could get a Mail automatically with all the details if this feature would be added

@Rohan V We would greatly benefit from this feature as well. Since many of our colleagues do not have Wrike accounts, we frequently rely on public forms. Having the ability to add a custom field for email addresses would significantly enhance our ability to automate and streamline these processes.

I can't believe you don't have this feature already. It's like basic project management? Another use case:

I want to be able to notify our payments team (not in Wrike) that a consultant (also not in Wrike) is ready to pay, so I want to be able to send them an automated email with the consultant's name, ID, and the name of the project they worked on, along with the project code. All of those are custom fields!
