Ongoing task

Recently I had to set up some tasks which are not supposed to have an expiry date. It would be fantastic to have an extra option for ongoing tasks in the drop-down menu of the task status or on the side-bar and not having to use milestone or backlogged since none of them accurately represents the status of the task.

Wow I'm really surprised more people aren't talking about this. Don't most companies have ongoing responsibilities? Clean the office whenever it gets Dori, replace and fit new filament for the 3D printers when they run out? Very important tasks, no specific date, just as and when required.. I want to list these ongoing responsibilities in a way that allows for comments/ statements/ time tracking etc. Best I've come up with so far is creating a new status under 'Deferred' called 'Ongoing task' so it doesn't mess up working with date specific tasks (eg. in Gannt view)
