How do you document your Wrike configurations/settings?

🗃️I need to document our Wrike environment for the proverbial I-win-the-lottery-and-quit-my-job scenario, so we have accurate hand-off resources.

❓Do you have similar documentation? What format is it in? What is in it?

📋My scope is:

Can someone re-build our Wrike environment to its exact current specifications, using only this documentation?

This will not be a training document. I rely on the Wrike knowledge base for that.

🧠So far, I have brainstormed a document for each space, plus an account document. So far this is just a brainstorm based on our build (which is for project management), but I hope you all have more suggestions to share, or previous gotchas you've learned from?

Hi @Laura Lysaght,
I created a workspace called DAM Digital Asset Management and inside we already find documentation of various projects that we follow, including Wrike.

I have documentation related to "how to do certain things" and "from the admin's side". The first is related to guides, job descriptions and instructions for the team, the second is how I structured Wrike, it includes various documents (custom item type) that in a written way verbalize what has been done and where to find the materials needed to make changes.

Everything you mentioned is inserted in these documents with clear titles and multi tags (custom fields) to retrieve them quickly.

Furthermore, each blueprint is accompanied by a flow diagram designed with whimsical.com so as to make the defined flow visual.

I also created 2 custom fields (last update and revision nr).

I appreciate this question; I think it's an often-overlooked aspect of administration.

In the past, I created an Admin space and maintained documentation there, including a change log, as the account had multiple admins. I think it's a good idea to have something outside of the Wrike account in case it needs to be shared or something happens to the account.

I have created a documentation template that I am happy to share. It should be a good starting point.
