Automatically Identify User Submitting a Request Form

When I submit a request form, why do I always have to manually type my name in to the field asking who is making the request. I am logged in. Why doesn't Wrike know it's me? This should be automated so that the person who submits the request automatically stays in the loop. At the very least, a drop down of all users should be available.

There's a recently released addition to the request forms' types of questions, and there's a new type - User, that allows the users who are submitting a form to select a user from the list. We'll be announcing this addition on Monday in our Weekly Release Notes 👍

Kind of related question: Once the user submitting the form has been identified, can that person automatically be granted visibility to the task that is generated by the form submission? What I mean is that when creating a form you can specify who the resulting task be assigned to, is there an option so that the requestor also be included?

Hey @Fabiola Salvant! Would it be possible to add yourself to the assignee list? Other than that, it's not currently possible to assign a requester automatically.

On a similar note as above, when someone submits a requests and it gets assigned to a person, does the submitter have the ability to see who the assigned person is? Is there any ability to hide what a submitter sees or customizing what they are able to see (Example: hide assigned user, hide status, etc.)?

Hi @Cynthia Pineda, I’m sorry for missing your comment.

If the submitter is an internal user (they are logged into Wrike and submit the request via the internal "+Request" button), they will typically become the author of the item (task/project) created by the form. The author will have access to the item and can see all its details, including assignees, status, comments, and more.

In the case of external requests, they cannot see the task/project, its assignees, or any status updates, but you can use the "Email to requester" option to communicate. You can find more details in this help center article.
