Calendar Dashboard Widget - Allow "Entire Account" or Multiple Locations

Subject says it all. The current implementation of calendars on the dashboard doesn't work for us because we draw from multiple folders and spaces, not just one. In a perfect world I'd like to build a calendar drawing from the entire account, and then use the parameters to dial in exactly what I'm looking for. My only solution now is to create dozens of calendar widgets.

I get that I can achieve this with the Calendar tool, but I'd like to be able to build and share a single dashboard instead of a dashboard AND a separate calendar.

Teddy, you're right. It's a limitation of the calendar component currently. As a workaround you can create a folder and cross-tag (make it a parent) for those folders you want to include and then pick that folder as a data source. There is no such workaround for the entire account unfortunately

Thanks to you both. Yes, it's a decent workaround - a little messy. Every other widget allows you to select "Entire Account," so I think that's the right fix just to be consistent and to ward off future questions.

Agreed, that workaround is a bit messy in a larger organization like I'm in. I myself will have 4-5 calendar parent folders to cross tag items to and I expect across the other 120 users - many of whom prefer calendar view for some items - that will result in a lot of extra tags and extra folders. Would be far easier if calendar widget worked like the others and let the widget owner select the entire account or multiple select folders to draw from.

just coming back to this again after all this time to say this is still a very much wanted change in my org. it's very frustrating that the calendar widgets don't work the same way as all the other widgets to allow entire account or multiple locations
