Using task effort in reports

Hi,

Has anyone had any luck with using task effort in WA reports? I'm trying to write a report that compares time effort planned on a task with the amount of time that was logged against that task but it's not working.

I've opened a support case, but am starting to get a bit concerned that I'm spamming them with requests at the moment (I'm a relatively new user learning all the time and so have questions all the time!) so I thought I'd ask our wonderful community to see if anyone else has managed to accomplish what I'm trying?

I'm using the following formulae to give me two figures I can compare against each other.

ROUND((([Total Assignee Task Effort (minutes)],[Weeks in Assignee Effort Date])/60),0) - to show me the amount of effort assigned to a task

ROUND((([Total Timelog Time Spent (minutes)],[Weeks in Timelog Creation Date])/60),0) - to show the amount of time logged to the same task

The issue is, that the first formula is returning wildly inaccurate figures, for example, the report is showing 91 hours effort against a task that actually only has 4 hours effort against it.

I feel like I don't understand the underlying database schema well enough to know if the fields I'm using will even show me what I want to see.

sorry for delay.
I don't know the dimensions you have in the raw of pivot, but usually to make some aggregations you need to cicle the formula like in this way:

ROUND((sum([Task ID],([Total Assignee Task Effort (minutes)],[Weeks in Assignee Effort Date]))/60),0)

Can you show me all raw dimensions?

Any solutions to this? It's been a couple of years, and we still can't filter effort by dates in reports.

Hi @Polivio Rosario,

Effort can be filtered by Task Effort Date in analytics reports. If you need to compare effort with time spent by dates, I'd recommend to use the Utilisation & Performance data model since it has a generic date dimension (User Work Schedule Date). If project-related data is required and using U&P data model is not an option, there are a few solutions that may work in some cases, could you elaborate on your use case?
