Dashboards - New Filters (Wrike Labs Release) 🧪

We are excited to introduce New Filters for Dashboards in Wrike Labs with a new intuitive UI, making it simpler and easier to use the right filters. You can now have dashboards combining widgets with classic and new filters, and the ability to switch any widget to work with either New Filters or Classic Filters.

New filtering options include:

- Custom date ranges

- Relative dates

Timesheets - System and Custom Fields ⏱️

We're excited to announce powerful new customization capabilities for your Timesheets! Now you can leverage the Wrike's Table view features to better organize, analyze, and visualize your time entries.

What’s new?

- Access both custom and system fields to categorize and track work by client, status, due date and more.

-Ability to sort by relevant fields for better entries prioritization.

- Analyze time spent across different dimensions with automatic totals per category, billing type, and custom fields.

The Fields menu now features two dedicated sections for easier access to custom fields:

1. Custom Fields from Timesheet Items: Displays all custom fields available in your current timesheet. This lets you selectively make only the most relevant fields visible for your specific timesheet.

2. Custom Fields in Timesheets: Acts as a personal storage for your selected fields, maintaining your preferred custom fields across all timesheets. This ensures your important fields remain visible regardless of which work items you're tracking.

Datahub - Formulas Now Available via API 📈

The Formulas in Datahub feature which was released in March is now fully supported in the API. This includes the $TODAY() function, and enables programmatic creation and management of calculated fields using the same formula syntax as Core Wrike.

One recommendation I'd love to see eventually: If we convert a classic-filter widget to a new-filter widget, that it will retain/transfer over the filters already set.

I've added a custom field formula that allow me to see Timespent / Effort, maybe can be useful for you.
For Effort you can create (as workaround) a formula custom field that copy effort value

On the account level you allow using new filters in Dashboards. But at this point nothing changes to Dashboards. When any user of the account then creates or edits any widget in a dashboard, they can choose to use new filters for this specific widget or to return back to the older ones (values are preserved).

This allows trying New Filters safely.

New filters in Dashboards allow filtering by Custom Fields. In most cases where you was able to set up CF filtering in old filters, it must work in new ones. There may be some issues with access rights, etc, not related to filters themselves. If the problem persists, please don't hesitate creating a support ticket.

This will be ready before GA. Unfortunately right now it is not available.

Unfortunately 'is not' cannot be applied in many places in analytical dashboards (unlike simple Table View). Could you please share if it was available in older filters and disappeared in new ones.

Itd be cool if the filter settings would be kept when editing existing dashboard widgets.

So that when you select "try new Filters" that it prefills them with the one you already had. Though you might need to translate them into the "New logic"?

@Marco Eberl Thanks for perfect question and for using Timesheets.
Your use case is indeed clear and valuable for us.

Effort addition (along with other user-centric fields such as job role, fees, and cost) was initially planned for the delivery but unfortunately we had to temporarily postpone this due to some technical challenges.

The complexity with implementing Effort in Timesheets lies in the need to filter aggregated effort per user and for specific time period (relevant for Timesheet period). Unfortunately, we cannot simply utilize all effort data assigned within a task.

We appreciate your understanding and will keep you updated on our progress with this feature.

The fields setting are not stored. When i reload the timesheets all configured field before are hidden again.
Is that behaviour intended?

Hi! Very excited to use the new filters for dashboards! 3 items I am seeing right now:

When switching to the new filters, it does not pre-populate with the old filters so you have to remember what you chose on an existing widget.
I am noticing a much longer load time when using the new filters.
When using the new filters on a "number" widget, I found that I can no longer click that number and it open up a table view with all the associated items that aggregated into that number (example: number of completed items this year assigned to me). When I switch back to the old filters, I am able to click into the number as expected. Will that be available to do with the new filters? That is a critical use of the number/chart widgets!

Hi,

I am also excited to see these new filters released to dashboards and will certainly be using them. The release notes above mention "Name" as one of the options (like in the new table view filters) but I don't see it when I try to use it. Have tried reporting on project or task, trying with different chart types etc but no matter what I cannot seem to find the "Name" filter. I have enabled new dashboard filters in Labs and am also using new filters in a new widget when trying.

Unfortunately "Name" filter by substring is not supported in Dashboards for. It is due to massive amounts of data and the way we perform calculations.

Thanks for your feedback. We know, we need to implement it, but we cannot expect it to be done soon. The task seems complex.

1. It does not migrate older filter settings in labs. But this will definitely work in GA. There are some minor cases that we cannon migrate (new filters differ from older ones), but it will work in most cases

2. We don't expect any performance changes comparing to the older filters. Will need to investigate.

3. We call this feature "Drill down". It is not supported yet, but we will add this support to the widgets with new filters in few weeks.

Did the Redesigned Filters ruin anyone else's saved reports/charts? Like the filters are actually terrible and no longer return any data at all? PLEASE let us turn off this new "feature." It's really awful.

1. The new filters are incompatible with the Parameters tool, making it impossible to replicate our previous dashboard functionality for some of our use cases.

2. Not all our account-wide custom fields are available for picking in new filters.

There are some questions I can only answer using new filters and some that I can only answer with classic filters. Please do not roll these out as GA until the issues described here (by me and others) are resolved!

Hi @Rohan V, just a heads up that in your release notes post here, you state that the "is not" filter is now available for Dashboards (specifically: New Filters for Dashboards in Wrike Labs), but I just verified with the support team that it is in fact not available to use with Dashboards yet. Not sure if you can update your original post but I saw a couple of other comments from folks here that they're trying to use the filter and can't find it. Thank you!

Our engineers confirmed that at the moment it is expected that the filtering option [is not] is unavailable in Dashboards or Chart view. It is available currently only in the Table view. It is planned to be supported in the future, but I am afraid we don't have any ETA to share regarding this change.
