In this post, you’ll learn how to create a new post (and which type to choose: New Discussion, New Idea, or Ask a Question) and how to follow forums so you never miss updates that matter to you. This will help you stay organized, engaged, and connected with the topics and conversations you care about most.

✍️ Creating a New Post

To create a new post from the home page, scroll down until you see the “+ New Post” button and click it.

You can also create a post directly from within a sub-category (sub-forum); simply locate and click the “+ New Post” button available there.

Post Types 📝

You can create three types of posts: Discussion, Idea, and Question.

🗣️ Discussion

Use a Discussion when you want to start a conversation or exchange information.

Example: In the API and Developers forum, you can create a Discussion post to share information, experiences, or best practices with others.

💡 Idea

Use an Idea when you want to share a suggestion or feature request.

Ideas are different from Discussions because they include an upvote option, allowing others to show their support. This option only works in the Product Feedback forum.

Example: If you have a feature suggestion, go to the Product Feedback forum, click New Idea, and add your suggestion. Other members can upvote your idea by clicking the upvote button.

❓ Question

Use a Question post when you need an answer or solution. This post type makes it easier for others to see which topics need replies and helps users quickly find questions that still require an answer.

Example: If you have a question about your workflow and want to learn how other members are handling it, go to the Q&A forum, click “+ New Post”, and select “Ask a Question”.

Question-type posts are highlighted with a tag, which helps other community members distinguish them from other post types.

📌 Following a Sub-forum

Following a forum and enabling notifications for new posts and comments will ensure you stay up to date.

To follow a forum:

1. Click the “Follow” button.
2. Enable these notifications:
   
   • Notify me of new comments
   • Notify me of new posts
