Recycle Bin for Tools

Hi Community!

Today's adventures in Wrike have brought forth a few ideas, apologies for the spurt of entries on my behalf.

It would be helpful if we had a designated Recycle Bin to retrieve deleted tools, namely dashboards and calendars. We had an issue today where a colleague couldn't locate their dashboard, so we hopped on chat with Wrike Support only to find out that they can't even confirm the deletion or retrieve any deleted dashboard on their backend. We found out that their manager deleted their dashboard without consulting them (they thought it was not being used).

Even if there is a temporary "hold" before tools get permanently deleted, that would be great! It helps avoid accidental deletions since, at the moment, they are permanently gone.

A problem we have not been facing yet, but I will take this to be very careful about how I share tools (only read only access and be very careful to give other people more rights on tools I designed)

As suggested by @Sven Passinger, it’s a good workaround to use access settings so that only a small group (e.g., admins) can delete shared tools 👍🏽

Hi @Sven Passinger @Basudha Sakshyarika , thanks for sharing.

The problem in this case was that it was a Space admin that deleted many of his team's tools thinking they were not in use. Even if we restrict access to a few folks, we still run the risk of someone eventually deleting something, whether intentional or not, so having a place or the ability to recover tools, even if it's a temporary window, would be amazing - hence the post I made!

+1 I’ve already upvoted this and see a huge benefit.

Situations like this are exactly why expanding the existing recycle bin to include deleted tools would be so valuable. Even a temporary retention or “hold” period would make a big difference when something is deleted and needs to be recovered.
