When you are given a link and receive the 'You don’t have access to this info Try asking the person who shared this link with you.' there should be a button to request access from the admins directly.
Love this idea - upvoted! So many times have I been given a link like this and we don't know who actually created it/who has access to it.
When you suggest that it should go to the admin, which admin are you thinking? Admins in the account, admin(s) of the space(s) that the item is tied to?
IMO, I think it would make sense to have the access request go to the item author, however in the event that the item was created by a deactivated user OR the Wrike Bot (ie. through external form or automation), perhaps it can go to whoever has Full access on the item.
Nice idea, but I would not make it to the admin but to the author of the task or project.
For us we have several admins (for complete account, but also for spaces). So should it be the space admin or the account admin? Also some admins in our company are IT-guys. They do not participate in the active project work. So they do not know if people are allowed to have access. I think the author of the task / project would be a better person.
Welcome to the Community, @Brian Robinson 🤗 Thank you for sharing your suggestion here. We’ll be sure to bring this to our Product Team’s attention. And @Anna Giacobbe, @Sven Passinger, thank you as well for pitching in with support and for adding your thoughts and feedback 🙏
I suggest we add a 'Request Access' button, with a optional comment field to add details. This should be sent directly to the Space Admins, the people that would grant access to the space with that link. The goal is to make the user experience as seamless as possible. If you are given a link to something within Wrike and told you have to review/add input, there should be minimal friction to getting access to that Wrike Space. Make it one click to notify the people that would grant you access.
Current State: I receive a link and get the above warning. I then need to notify the user that sent me the link (email/chat). They need to find the admins of the Wrike Space (which they often don't know how to find). Then message (email/chat) the Wrike space admins to grant me access. The Space Admins need to open Wrike, find the Space and do several clicks to add me. That is a lot of Waste (information transportation and time).
Future State: I receive a link and get the warning with a 'Request Access' button and comment field. Within Wrike I submit the request. Within Wrike the Space Admin is notified and able to add me directly within the notification. This is minimizes the Waste.
Perhaps an idea could be that on the backend settings, account admins can select the behaviour of the request access feature. Everyone runs their account differently (we see 2 very different examples in the comments between Brian and Sven), so perhaps there can be options like:
Who should request access be sent to?
I do also like the idea of the comment box; this would help back-and-forths and allow the requester to justify their request (very much like how we see it on SharePoint, Google tools, etc.).
Hi @Brian Robinson why you are sending links outside Wrike? We use the @-mention in Wrike. That automatically results in sharing the task and giving access to the requiered person.
