In Wrike if I have a field for each of our project tickets where we record the number of images being requested (different for every ticket) how can I get a realtime average for the number of images in active tickets, preferably as a Number widget.
You'd want to create a custom widget then choose Chart. This allows you to select the Metric you want to report on - in this case, the Images Requested (or whatever you've named that custom field where you're storing the number). Just choose your Data Source first, then select the Item Type of where you're filling out that custom field, then you can use the + button in the Metrics section to choose that custom field. After you've added the custom field to the Metrics section you either keep the metric for "All" (which will show the total number of items) or remove it (which will show it as just a number/indicator). Here's an example using my Custom field called "Average Triggers Per Month":
If you only want "Active" Items choose the Filter at the top for Status then click on Active.
Hi @Meredith Selden thank you for replying unless I'm misunderstanding you, this is what I already do to see a 'live' total. What I am trying to do (and I just realized I omitted this in my original question) is determine what the average number of images per Project is.
Dashboards aren't yet capable of Formulas - you'd have to use Wrike Analyze in order to show that. Is that part of your Wrike Package?
Here's a workaround: check your Custom Field settings and ensure the default aggregate is set to "Average" - then create a new custom widget and choose Table this time. You can choose your data source, filter by the item type if needed, then turn on your Custom Field as a column so you can see the numbers (Fields button). When you add a Field/Column for "Status Group" and then choose Group By Status Group each header on the group by will show the average. You can do this with any "group by" but I think this one is cleanest. Then collapse all (subitems button).
It is, yes
Analyze is part of our package. Do you have any insight into how I might create such a widget there?
