How to Filter a Table View for only one Project

Question

We have defined a space with many projects and many tasks per project.

I want to see the Table View, for only one specific project.

I see I can create a filter (Add filter) for "Project Phase" and "Project Risk" and I do not see any filter for "Project Name" = <name of project i type in>

Can you please recommend what I can do.

I do see that I can filter in the Dashboard and I don't see that I can perform updates to the fields in the Dashboard.  Is that true - Dashboards can only be updated in Views?

Sometimes we need a simple pointer to the obvious… Name… that is the field for tasks… I should have thought of that… thank you for that simple pointer to the Name field for a filter!

So I now have a follow-up question…  I filtered with Name and it only brings up the one row that has the name of the parent project.  That's understandable.

Is there a way to filter to get a parent project <Project X> and all its sub-tasks - everything below it?

The space has many project-level items and many more items under each project-level items… I just want the View to filter only one project-level item at a time.

On a related note, I can readily see a desire to filter for a tasks and its sub-items… would the solution I hope you propose for filtering for only one project-level item at a time also work for one task-level item at a time?

Hi @Michael Van Vooren 🙋‍♂️ Thanks for posting.

In the table, have you tried using the “Name” filter?You can apply this filter and enter the project name so that the view only displays the specific project you’re looking for.

On dashboards, you can mostly view data. They are helpful for high-level monitoring; then you can click through into the underlying table or directly into the project to change fields like phase, risk, etc.
