Autopopulate custom field value to sub elements

Question

Hi, we are using a customized field that shows the priority ranking of each project. The field-type is "# Number".  We need to see this priority in each sub-element of the project. I coudnt figure out a way to automate that. Does anyone have an idea?

Dear Andre, thank you for your prompt reply. I will have a look into that. We are using CF-numbers because we like the option to use markers. In this way we have priorisation ranking and grouping (low/mid/high) in one value. I'll try to find a workaround.

We have recently launched to solve this problem Cascading Fields native feature to cascade down field values for the following field types:

Custom Fields:

* Single select
* Multi-select
* Text
* Checkbox
* People
* Date
* Link to database

Cascading also works with these system fields: Importance.

However as I can see your post you are specifically using CF number which is not supported right now (since that field supports rollup feature).

Not sure about your workflow but would it be possible to use either Text type field for Priority (you can add numbers there too) or a single select type of field? - Those fields already support cascading
