I would like suggest adding additional actions to the form setup to cancel submission of the current form and redirect to another request form OR to display a comment when a selection is made.
To clarify my request, I will explain: I have 4 different assembly plants utilizing a Request Form to create action items in their location's specific folder. The request form can be completed by anyone at that location.
To simplify decision making for the method to address the action item, I created a single select custom field (Action Item Trigger) than lists 14 different options. Twelve (12) of these options can use this specific form as is to create one of two different custom item types (Action Item or Corrective Action) - the primary difference is the additional entry fields for the corrective action item type (root cause and countermeasure). The first 12 work as intended. This specific concern lies with the remaining 2 options that I will refer to as options 13 and 14. Options 13 and 14 will share the many custom fields and need to be in the same area for consistency of tracking, but have completely different paths for creation.
Options 13 and 14 will be created using their own unique Request Forms.
Option 13 is a public/external form for a suggestion program
Option 14 requires much more detailed entry to cover regulatory requirements.
Currently, my only option is instructing the users to NOT select the bottom 2 options via the description of the question (Please select one of the first 5 options to create an Action Item or one of the next 7 options to create a Corrective Action item.
DO NOT use either of the last two options…). Instead of relying on the user to NOT select either of these options, I would like to prevent it by having built in functionality.
The idea I have is to add an additional action to the selection:
Option 1: Add an option under Redirect to Go to a different form. Selection would cancel submission of the current form and immediately go to another existing form that would be specified and linked in the setup of this form.
Option 2: Add an option to Add a Comment. Selection in form setup would prompt the form designer to enter a comment that would be displayed on screen if selected. The comment could then allow a follow-up to either go back and choose another option OR to cancel submission. For my case above, I would add a comment advising the user to either select another of the options (in case accidentally selected) or cancel submission and go to the correct form.
