Overview
Once the space is created using the template, you will find two core folders ready to organize your expansion initiatives: Projects and Reporting.
To help you get started immediately, these folders come pre-loaded with clear examples, showing you exactly how your data will populate. The structure utilizes a core Blueprint: Expansion Project to instantly spin up new initiatives with identical, standardized workflows.
In the Tools section, you will find a pre-configured Expansion Project overview dashboard which provides a bird's-eye view of your entire business stream, showcasing vital widgets such as:
- Total number of active expansion projects
- Projects organized by country
- On-time project tracking and health status and more.
Now let’s take a closer look 👀
The heart of this template is the Expansion Project Blueprint. When you launch a new initiative, you don't start from scratch; you use this Blueprint to automatically populate specialized Custom Item Types (CITs) like Workstream 00 - Project Management and Workstream 02 - Procurement Machines. This ensures that every project folder whether in "Projects" or "Reporting" is structured identically from day one.
By using this Blueprint, teams can maintain rigid standards while accelerating the setup of complex manufacturing sites, allowing you to focus on the expansion itself rather than administrative organization.
To make tracking even more robust, the template includes specialized Custom Fields such as Responsible Team and Scope and more. This ensures that every department from procurement to engineering knows exactly what they own and the specific parameters they are working within.
Combined with a tailored Custom Workflow designed specifically for manufacturing project Lifecycles, team members can smoothly advance tasks through unique development gates, ensuring consistent execution across every single facility launch.
We hope this template overview was helpful! The Manufacturing Expansion Projects template is an incredible asset for operations managers and leadership teams looking to scale their physical footprint without losing alignment or transparency. Special thanks to @Mateusz Pawlak for creating and sharing this template with the Wrike Community so other users can benefit from it as well 🙏
