Hi Wrike Community 👋
We have some exciting news to share! 🙌
Wrike MCP is the bridge between your conversations and the work that brings them to life. Today, we are opening up Wrike MCP v2! Now, the AI assistant you already use can search, read, create, and update work directly in Wrike with no copy-pasting or context-switching required.
It works across the AI tools you already use:
- ClaudeÂ
- ChatGPTÂ
- Microsoft CopilotÂ
- Gemini EnterpriseÂ
- Cursor
- and any other MCP-compatible client.Â
Thank you to our Beta testers for all the great input! Wrike MCP v2 is out of Beta and now generally available for all teams. Check out our documentation for more details.
What's new in v2?
- Unified search - across tasks, folders, and projects, and spaces.
- Cleaner context - custom fields show up only when they're filled, your assistant understands custom item types vs. base types, and it uses the same numeric IDs you see in the Wrike UI, so links and references are right the first time.
- Lighter navigation - your assistant skims the key fields first and drills into detail only where it matters. On average this cuts token usage by about 25 percent.
- Bulk read & create - explore complex hierarchies and build multi-item work (a project with several tasks) in a single call instead of many.
- Inbox -Â summarize, prioritize, and reply to @mentions without leaving your assistant .
- Whiteboards - create and work with whiteboards directly through your assistant.
How to Use It (Prompts to Try)
1. "Tell me the current status of our launch project in Wrike."
2. "Summarize all milestones due this week across our top projects and highlight any risks."
3. "Turn these meeting notes into tasks under the Q3 Launch project, assigned with due dates."
4. "What's in my Wrike inbox that needs action today?"
5. "Which approvals are still waiting on me, and how long have they been pending?"
How do I get started?
Works with your go-to AI tools:
- Claude / Claude Code: Search, read, create, and update tasks, projects, and folders directly from Claude, keeping the conversation tied to real work.
- ChatGPT: Work with your Wrike tasks, projects, and folders to create summaries, understand priorities, and prepare clear status updates.
- Microsoft Copilot: Manage Wrike work from Copilot so your team can act on projects without leaving Microsoft 365.
- Gemini Enterprise: Take Wrike actions directly in Gemini so you can move projects forward without switching tools.
- Cursor & other MCP clients: Connect any MCP-compatible client to read and act on your Wrike workspace.
