How do you all use WRIKE to Track DATA?

Hi,

Our org is undergoing a reorg, and they want to give DATA more consideration. I am curious to see how people use WRIKE to Track DATA and whether you all use other systems to pull data and bring it into Wrike, like Google Analytics or Salesforce.

Curious to see what people are doing with data integration and recommendations for us beginners.

I'd recommend using Wrike to track key KPIs, not as your main data warehouse. We use custom fields for metrics like budget, revenue, or campaign performance, then pull data in from systems like Salesforce or Google Analytics using Wrike Integrate, Zapier, or APIs. That keeps Wrike focused on visibility, dashboards, and reporting while the source systems remain the source of truth.

Hi Lea, Wrike is quite useful for team performance (KPIs and OKRs). If you are looking for a broader data pull, as Fabio was mentioning, you will need to use the API. It is the only way to grab the information and make it visible from Wrike. It is a hustle but the benefit is that you will be able to see many of the data from different sources in Wrike and male you data analysis.

I think one of Wrike's strengths is connecting data to the work that's actually being done. Rather than trying to replace systems like Google Analytics or Salesforce, I'd use Wrike to bring the most important metrics into projects and dashboards so teams can make decisions without jumping between multiple tools. Starting with a handful of meaningful KPIs and expanding over time usually makes adoption much easier than trying to track everything at once.

This may relate to your Salesforce use-case but we pull in basic user data from Okta into Wrike datahub via the API and then surface that user information against project items (via "Link to database" custom fields) to provide more context on who the stakeholders are for that project. As it allows us to easily add people by their name / email (whatever you define as your primary value in that table) to the project and then by hovering over them see all the other information such as job title, department, manager etc. It syncs daily so the information is always up to date.

Whatever you prefer really, I tend to use table views when reviewing my portfolio of projects but equally I've setup some dashboards for the management as those include both table and chart widgets in one view.

1. The Okta data is pulled in via API to the Datahub database. (Name is actually the email, and that's what I choose to surface in the custom filed as the first value).

2. You can then view a list of projects in a folder where the stakeholders are visible (this is a simplified demo view as I usually surface way more custom fileds, I just wanted to avoid needing to anonymise them too). The email of the stakeholder is the only value visible, but if you hover over it it exposes all the other details. This is lived synced and updated, so when someone's title or email changes, those changes are also reflected in Wrike. I configured the custom field to alow you to tag multiple people, as some projects have multiple stakeholders.

3. This can also be viewed in the project item itself. This saves having to open up Okta to view the stakeholder details, useful if someone has to look after your project when you're on leave. All the information they need is one place.

In your case this would save people from having to open up Salesforce each time to review details of a deal or a client when planning a project around them.
