This week, we’re focusing on an essential product management tool: the Product Feedback Form template! 🚀
Capture and centralize product feedback with a structured intake form that collects key details (from feature requests and usability issues to customer insights and priority levels) ensuring every piece of feedback is categorized, routed to the right team, and ready to inform your product roadmap. No more scattered notes or lost customer insights: every submission is tracked from day one.
What’s Inside This Template?
- Request Form: A pre-configured intake form for gathering customer and internal product feedback.
- Custom Fields: Fields for capturing feedback types, customer impact, value scores, and details.
- Custom Workflows: A specialized Product Feedback workflow to track insights through review and roadmap selection.
- Dashboards & Views: A dedicated Feedback Dashboard alongside pre-configured Table, Board, and Chart views.
💡 Installation Tip: You can also find this template directly using this LINK. From there, it can be used to create a brand-new space or added directly into an existing one. For a step-by-step guide on installing it into a pre-existing space, check out this article. Plus, thanks to a recent Wrike Labs release, you can now map template configurations (such as Custom Fields) directly to your existing space setup during installation to avoid creating duplicates!
Workspace Setup & Overview
Once you install the template, you will find a primary Feedback Folder pre-populated with example submissions across various workflow stages. The space comes with three ready-to-use views:
- Table View: Displays submitted items cleanly grouped by the Feedback Type custom field.
- Feedback Board (Board View): Cards organized by their current workflow status for easy visual tracking.
- Chart View: A high-level summary showing tasks across workflows, status groups, and assignees.
Let’s Take a Closer Look 👀
To explore or edit the intake pipeline, head to Space Settings ⚙️ and select Request Forms to open the Product Feedback form structure:
1. Request Form & Response Settings
- Response Settings (Left): Controls what happens when a submission comes in, such as setting the default initial status, placing the new item directly into the Feedback Folder, and routing assignments.
- Form Builder Questions (Right): Pre-loaded with targeted questions to gather comprehensive feedback. You can add, edit, or reorder questions to fit your team's intake needs.
- Design Customization: Click the Design tab to personalize the form by adding your company logo, custom branding colors, or a background banner image.
2. Automatic Custom Field Mapping
The template includes single-select, multi-select, text, and numeric custom fields such as Most Value, Least Value, and Feedback Type. When a user fills out the request form, their responses map directly into these Custom Fields, giving product managers/stakeholders structured data without manual entry.
3. Product Feedback Workflow
To keep evaluation steps clear, this template introduces a specialized feedback workflow with progress-specific statuses:
- Submitted
- Research
- Formal Review
- Obtaining Details
- Selected
- Not Selected
4. Feedback Dashboard
Keep product managers, UX researchers, and engineering leads aligned using the pre-configured Feedback Dashboard. It provides real-time visibility through dedicated widgets:
- Count of Feedback Submissions
- Enhancement Submissions
- All Feedback Overview
- All Enhancements List
- Itemized Feedback & Enhancement List
Where to Use This Form (Real-World Examples)
This template is versatile and can be adapted across several product touchpoints:
- Customer Success & Support Intake: Route user-reported friction points, usability issues, and feature requests directly from support channels into your product backlog.
- Internal Stakeholder Feedback: Allow sales, marketing, and account management teams to submit client requirements and market insights with context on deal impact.
- Beta Testing & User Research: Collect structured feedback from early-access testing cohorts to evaluate feature value prior to a full launch.
Customize the Form for Your Needs
You can adjust this feedback engine using these customization options:
- Refine Conditional Logic: Add dynamic follow-up questions. For instance, if a user selects "Usability Issue", prompt them to specify their operating system or upload a screenshot.
- Pre-Assign Product Owners: Update the form's Response Settings so requests with specific feedback types automatically route to the corresponding product manager.
- Tailor Workflow Statuses: Expand the Product Feedback workflow with custom stages like In Backlog, or Scheduled for Sprint to match your product development cycle.
We hope this spotlight helps your team establish a clean, reliable intake process for all product feedback!
