Automation based on project inactivity.

I'd like the ability to create an automation based on project inactivity.

For example: if no new task has been added to a project within a specified period of time (X days/weeks/months), automatically trigger a follow-up action. That action could be either:
- Send an email reminding the project owner to follow up
- Create a new task requesting a project status check or follow-up.
The inactivity timer would reset whenever a new task is created within the project. From that point, the specified inactivity period would begin again.

The goal would be to automatically identify projects that may have been unintentionally neglected and prompt someone to review them before they fall through the cracks.

A nice idea. I would extend it. The inactivity timer should have mre opportunities: no task is created since x days, no time booked for last x days, no tasks changed status since x days, ….

Hi Mats,
I don't think this is possible natively, except through Wrike Integrate. That said, you could try a workaround along these lines:

Add an automation so that every new task sets a custom field to 1.
Roll up that same custom field at project level, so it sums the values.
Whenever the sum changes, update another custom field on the project, for example a "last activity" date.

From there you could build your follow-up logic. I haven't tested it, though, so give it a try first!

Definitely upvoting this! I know you can automate based on "status hasn't changed in x days" but I would love to be able to have something trigger based on Last Modified Date (which does exist in Dashboard widgets and table view) - thinking If Last Modified date was X days ago - then do this.

That said, I’d still personally like to see an option to set this up as a standard, non-AI automation as well. I am especially interested in a project-level inactivity trigger.
