I would love to see a feature added where you could turn on "Notification Badges" for individual dashboard widgets that are being used to display critical data or requiring immediate attention.
This would cause a red badge to display in the top corner of that widget whenever it is populated, showing the item count for that widget (similar to the badge for unread Inbox notifications).
In addition, notification badges would also display on the section tabs, so you can quickly be notified if something populated a widget on a different tab then the one you're currently viewing. The badge on the section tab would show the sum of the badge count across all of the widgets in that section. (If Section B had one widget badge showing a count of 3, and another widget badge showing a count of 2, the badge on Section B would show a count of 5.) Items in widgets that don't have badges turned on would not be counted.
