Dashboard Widgets - Multiple Item Types

Question

We have a team that handles the majority of their work via tasks other than one request type that is a project.  For dashboard reporting, our metrics should show task counts plus ONLY the project counts for that one item type.  Including the tasks for those projects would be an overstatement based on the biz needs of the views.  Is there a relatively simple way to do this?

Nice!  This worked perfectly for a table view and also prompted some deeper thinking from a strategy perspective.  Any suggestions on how to apply the same filtering logic for a single integer widget?

Thanks for the details! You can do this in a single custom widget, even though it only allows one location, by using two filter groups:

* Group 1: Item type is Task AND Direct parent → Name contains PDS Request
* Group 2: Item type is [your project item type] AND Direct parent → Name contains PEACH

Since the two groups combine as "match any", the widget shows the standalone tasks from PDS Request plus only the projects from PEACH. The tasks inside those projects are left out.

Two tips:

* Select your specific project item type rather than "All projects", otherwise other project-based types, like custom folders, may show up too.
* "Contains" matches partial names, so make sure no other folders share those names.

Thanks @Pietro Poli!   All the standalone tasks are under the "PDS requests" folder.  The project items we want to show at the project level are under another folder labeled "PEACH".  Both of these are subfolders of the "PDS" folder.

Our widgets need to display/aggregate the tasks under the PDS Request folder and only the projects under the PEACH folder.
