TL;DR
Allow request forms to dynamically find and update an existing project using a Project ID, title, or unique identifier. This would make it much easier to collect information over time through targeted forms while keeping everything connected to a single project record.
It would be great if Wrike request forms could dynamically update an existing project based on a Project ID, project title, or another unique identifier instead of requiring a static save location.
In our workflow, projects are often created before all metadata is available. Information such as 1-year revenue, 3-year revenue, prioritization scores, risk assessments, and other attributes are gathered later by different groups.
This would allow us to create simple, focused forms, such as:
- Financial Information Form
- Priority Scoring Form
- Risk Assessment Form
Each form could update only the relevant custom fields on the existing project, rather than requiring users to navigate through 20+ attributes on a single project item.
Current Workaround
A current workaround simply brainstorming without any implementation yet, is creating multiple views with different custom fields visible (Financial View, Priority View, etc.). While this reduces clutter, it still requires users to find the project and update fields directly rather than using a guided form experience. Is this the best possible workaround/is this even possible?
