Wrike API key integration in our LLM model to create a workflow

We're exploring AI integration (Claude via MCP) to automate ticket creation and template population for our creative workflows.
Questions:1. Does Wrike support MCP (Model Context Protocol) or have an official Claude integration?2. What are the API capabilities for programmatically creating/updating tickets with auto-filled templates?3. Any rate limits or constraints for API-driven automation?4. Examples or docs for third-party AI integrations?
Use case: Auto-generate campaign tickets with pre-filled custom fields to reduce manual entry.

Hi @David Bruijn , great use case! Here’s a quick rundown:

Wrike has an official MCP server that works with Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP-compatible clients. It respects user permissions, so the AI only sees what the user can see. Setup guide:

The REST API covers everything you need for creating tickets:

* creates an item from your custom item type, ideal for standardized campaign tickets.
* launches a full blueprint, such as a campaign with all its subtasks.
* sets custom field values, assignees, dates, and descriptions.

A solid pattern is to let the LLM extract the campaign details, then create the item from a custom item type or blueprint and fill in the custom fields.

About rate limits currently 400 requests per minute per user and 5,000 per IP. Above that you’ll get a 429 error, so add a short retry/backoff.

For production automations, the MCP is great for interactive use. For fully automated flows, such as tickets generated from a brief or form, a pipeline using n8n, Wrike Integrate, or direct API calls with an LLM step tends to be more predictable.
