Search on custom field values

We enter opportunity IDs in custom fields. These are IDs that are specific to a sales/revenue opportunity and are extremely important for reporting, etc.

I was shocked to find that the search feature in Wrike will not pull up values in custom fields. This is a critical and necessary change for us to be able to search/find specific OP IDs that we supported for sales.

Hey! You can't search by Custom Fields but you can use the filter option to show tasks in your search results by their Custom Fields. Let me know if you think this will help 👍

We are kicking off our offer process with a request form. During the process, a specific part number and offer number will be added in custom fields on project level. We are struggling with the same problem as neither filters or the general search are responsive to these entries.

I was surprised that it wouldn't work, but it seems to be quite an issue to accomodate this feature.

We have the same issue : We use external IDs in custom fields, and we cannot search for them.

Also on our side, Custom Fields are used to keep SalesOrder or Ticket numbers in them directly on the Task.

Our colleagues are working in a Ticketing system (3rd-Party) and need to find "their" tasks in wrike - and the idea is to use these Custom Fields.

Disappointing news! This is a critical feature for us that significantly slows us down when searching for specific opportunities across a very large (100+) user base with literally hundreds of projects ongoing simultaneously. We track unique sales opportunity IDs in custom fields on every task. Sometimes we have 10+ different tasks for 10+ different opportunities, all with the same customer name. Being able to search for the unique OP ID housed in a custom field is essential to finding the right task. For now, our work-around is to run a report. Too time consuming when the search feature should be able to pick up custom field data. Thanks for considering our feedback!

Disappointing. This is a massive feature that needs to be dealt with, it's ridiculous Wrike keeps being catered to non-power users and people who really need to flex the system.

I just ran across this gap in functionality today and was pretty surprised that the search does not include custom fields.

While it is helpful to know that I can create a filter to effectively search for a custom field value, it would be FAR more convenient to just type what I'm looking for in search and have tasks with matching custom field values appear.

Really hope Wrike will prioritize the addition of custom field values to search ... again, this type of functionality just seems normal and I'm pretty surprised that it isn't there.

While we’d love to be able to implement all of the suggestions that our customers share with us, we have to prioritize certain requests over others based on various factors and considerations at the time. However, even when a status is not planned, it is possible that this may change in the future.

Possible use cases are some of the most valuable form of feedback and this kind of information will really help them in future discussions. You asked for use cases, here is one. I convinced my team to use Wrike over other PM softwares because it seems pretty straight forward to add a CRM (amongst other things). You can use the mobile app and upload images of business cards directly from your camera, create custom fields for whatever entries you need and link tasks and projects directly to them and manage them with the power of Wrike. Sounds like just perfect. Unfortunately, after having transferred our former CRM database to Wrike, what a surprise we had that we couldn't search someone by company name or just by their last name. It seemed so much impossible that I could not search within the custom fields, that I never thought to looks if it was possible before transitioning. You know how much resistance there is when you want to convince a team to change tool, and after succeeding in the favor of Wrike (your favor), here I am screwed because of something that I feel shouldn't be an issue.
