Lock individual tasks within a project

It would be very helpful to be able to lock certain deadlines of a project. Some of the tasks have hard deadlines, while others can float. When you use dependencies and move a not critical task, it moves all the tasks associated with it. Being able to lock the critical tasks will be VERY HELPFUL!

changing the critical tasks to 'Milestones' may help.

I agree with this. Wrike currently doesn't allow locking of both Tasks and milestones. It would be nice to be able to lock and allowing the manager to be able to move it. Ability to lock the milestone will be a great tool to help tracking the progress and potential delays which may effect other projects and work flow.

Our Structure in Wrike currently looks like

Main Folder -> Global Project -> tasks -> subtasks

->Country Project ->tasks ->subtasks

We would like to make it as (desired)

Main Folder -> Project -> GBL Tasks ->Subtasks

->Country 1 task -->Subtask

->country 2 task -->Subtask

In my desired structure, each task belongs to a owner and the set of subtasks belong to different team. Is is possible for everybody to view and comment on all tasks but advanced option like creating dependencies, moving projects, etc is locked. Ie. GBL Task to GBL team, Country 1 task to Country 1 team and Country 2 task to country 2 team?

Please develop this. My company has been on Wrike since 2016 and we have really needed a feature like this. We have several workarounds with multiple folders, importances and statuses but locked tasks would eliminate a lot of extra work.

Hi @Heather Wikene, apologies for the late reply here, I was checking internally to see if there's an update for this suggestion.

While it is not currently planned by our team, one thing I could suggest is using milestones where it is critical not to move task beyond that point. It will still allow to move the tasks but it will highlight the dependency as red on the Gantt chart. Can this be helpful?

I'd like to add my voice to this, but also add that the ability to prevent time logging against a task would also be very useful. Currently I achieve this by having created a custom item type that does not include the timelog function, but when I change a task to use this, all time previously logged against this task now falls under the new item type rather than as its original item type, and that is not helpful for us.
