File preview for Excel

We share a lot of Excel files within Wrike, and would find it to be extremely useful to have the Preview function enabled for this file type (like it is for Word documents or PDFs).

Anybody else want to have this function? Click the (plus) below, and this feature may be considered with the Wrike Product team.

Right now, we have to download the Excel file to simply view it, which does not help with efficiencies or file consolidation.

Up vote: we had this come up today as well. While the file can be downloaded, it may be versioned over time and would like to ensure folks aren't using older versions while referring to the excel document.

An ability to view and edit/save all within Wrike would be highly used.

Hey guys, thanks for your feedback here. Excel preview is not planned by our Product team due to the risk of issues related to it. If that ever changes, I'll get back to you here with an update.

What we do is leverage the Wrike document editor as a "previewer". If you select "edit" the file then the document editor will open the file in excel and you can view the file. If you dont make a change or hit save then it will close without saving a version. It is not as elegant as the built-in viewer, but it works and is pretty fast.

--Would love to see this added at some point if the security/macro issues can be resolved.

It is now possible to view an Excel file in Wrike as a preview without requiring you to download it to your system. That's why we have changed the status of this thread to "Launched".
