Do the agents have a memory?

I've been looking into the risk management agent, and have tried to get it to tell me if any of the due dates for tasks within a project have changed since it last ran.  It doesn't seem to be working though, which prompted me to wonder, do the agents have memory?  I'm thinking that they would need to to be able to tell if something had changed from its previous run.  All the things it's doing now are just looking at the current state of the project, which is helpful but not what I need.

Hi Phil, thanks for the great question! No, our agents don't currently have memory. However, agents do know the last time a task was updated. Here's the reasoning of an agent I just tried where I prompted it "When was the last update to this task?":

'The provided work item data for the task "new task" includes an "updated date" field with the value "2025-12-05", which indicates the most recent update timestamp for this task. This directly answers the instruction asking for the last update date of the task.'

If you know your agent runs once a week, try asking it for the changes that happened during that week.
