How can I create a custom item type as subitems in the description field?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can assist me with a question on subitems. As part of our translation process, I create anywhere from 20-100 subtasks every couple weeks by adding them into the description of a task. LOVE this feature of adding subitems in the description field here. My question is, how do I create these subitems as a pre-created custom item type?

My business case is that I'd like to assign the same individual and task type to all of these subitems. Is this possible and has anyone done this before? I'd love to hear suggestions or feedback. Thank you in advance.

After you make them can you just change the type? I've done that.

I'm not aware of a way right now to automate it being a different type. Please update us if you find a way though!

Yes, that's what I currently do. I also assign the same individual and change another custom field. Was hoping there was a way to select the custom type for these subtasks which would allow me to automate those actions.

As @Tiffany Sands mentioned, and as you are aware, you can manually change the item type. However, there is currently no direct way to automate the creation of subitems as a specific custom item type.
