Wrike AI agents making constant mistakes

I built a simple agent to copy start dates and due dates to dedicated custom fields when a new item is created.

This is in order to investigate timeline planning vs execution.

As automation does not allow copying values, I built an agent.

It was frustrating to see that the agent occasionally invented values instead of copying.

It is a very simple action that should have been an automation, and the agent failed to execute correctly.

Hi Rohan,

I built a very simple agent: whenever a task is created copy start date, due date and duration, to designated custom fields within the same task. The purpose of the agent is to investigate planed vs actual timeline of tasks execution.

The agent should run on a routine basis and update data for newly create tasks since the last run.

It either skipped or failed to update for a large part of the tasks.

It also made few mistakes, updating wrong values. When I asked the agent why did it update wrong values it replied that indeed it made a mistake and mixed between values of different tasks.

Few test runs consumed all my AI tokens, so I doubt that I will end up using this capability even if fixed. It is too much work to check the agent and I don't see us paying extra for this.

I guess I will do it on a separate excel, downloading the data and comparing for tasks.

Another comment, I feel that Wrike automations could be improved. I find it odd that automations do no support copying fields values. I initially exepcted that this work will be done using automation.

I checked with our team, and they ran a similar test using a scheduled agent to copy start and due dates into custom fields. In their test, the tasks were updated as expected. While that suggests the issue may not be happening in every case, it also indicates there may be additional factors involved here that would be helpful to understand.

If you’re open to it, could you please share:

The action instruction text used in your agent. A screenshot is perfectly fine.
The destination custom field types you’re using, especially for duration. Wrike’s Duration custom field type isn’t writable by agents today, so if your destination was a Number or Text field, that would be useful context for the team.
