We’re excited to share some highly requested updates to Board View!
To better support how your team structures its process, we’ve expanded what you can do with Board View. You now have more options for grouping columns and swimlanes to match your team's specific workflows.
Let’s take a look at what’s new! 🎉
1. Group Swimlanes by Custom Fields
Horizontal grouping (swimlanes) is no longer limited to assignees. You can now create swimlanes using any single-select or multi-select custom field.
2. Build Columns Beyond Workflow Statuses
Vertical columns are no longer tied strictly to standard workflow statuses. You can now build columns out of any single-select or multi-select custom field.
3. Smarter Layout & Improved Filtering
We’ve also tweaked the overall experience to ensure your boards stay clutter-free:
- "Other Workflows" repositioned: To help keep your board organized when viewing work across multiple processes, the Other workflows column now defaults to the left side of the view.
- Dynamic filtering: When you apply filters, Board View now automatically hides empty columns and swimlanes, displaying only the ones containing matching items.

These updates make it easier to tailor your board view to specific workflows, such as sprint planning, resource management, or campaign tracking:

How to Set It Up
- Open any space, folder, or project in Board View.
- Look at the toolbar controls at the top of the board.
- Click Group by to select any single-select or multi-select custom field for horizontal swimlanes.
- Click Columns to select custom fields for vertical column layout.
