Feature Updates
Introducing External Workmates in Wrike Labs - AI agents built on your own platform and brought into Wrike as colleagues with dedicated user accounts. They work alongside your team, reading context across spaces and taking action right where your work happens.
What's new?
- Read across spaces and answer questions using cross-space context.
- Assess risks, turn meeting notes into tasks, and convert briefs into projects.
- Connect to external tools like Google Drive, Figma, or your CRM.
- Ask before acting, pausing for your input when needed.
How does it work? Once enabled in Wrike Labs, add Workmates via Account Management, then interact with them like any team member through comments or assignments.
📝 Please note: During the Labs phase, your company needs to run Claude Managed Agents to use External Workmates. Support for additional platforms is on the way!
To learn more about how to get started and set it up, read our dedicated Help Center articles and this Community post.
We're thrilled to introduce intelligent resource allocation in Wrike MCP! Just ask your assistant to staff a project or specific tasks, and it recommends the right assignees based on availability and required skills. Review the suggestions and approve them to apply the assignments in Wrike.
What it does
- Staff entire projects, folders, spaces, or specific tasks with recommended assignees.
- Respects real capacity and flags potential overloads.
- Matches skills and job roles to task requirements, with options for strict or relaxed matching.
- Narrows candidate pools by team or space.
- Shows workload impact by day or week.
For details on how it works and how to set it up, check out this Community post. You can also see the full list of tools on the Available Tools in Wrike MCP page.
We're excited to announce comment threads in Wrike Labs! You can now group related comments and reply directly within a thread in the Wrike stream - keeping conversations organized, easier to follow, and clutter-free.
What’s new?
- MCP and API support for comment threads, beyond just posting new comments.
- Inbox differentiates between simple @mentions and thread replies with a "Replied to:" label.
- UX improvements, including no automatic @mention in the reply box and a floating reply icon for easier access .
For full details on threaded conversations, read this Help Center article and Community post.
We're excited to introduce the option to display project and task dates directly on the New Gantt chart canvas! See exact start and due dates right next to each item name on the timeline. This is a display setting, so you can enable or disable it anytime.
What’s new?
- Enable dates from the three-dot settings menu by selecting Show on chart, then Dates.
- Dates appear next to item names, and milestones display their date.
- Dates are visible only for items with both a start and due date (except milestones).
We're excited to announce that the connection between the Wrike and Klaxoon MCPs is now generally available!
AI agents can now read task context, find an attached whiteboard, and interact with its content in one smooth flow, instead of getting stuck and jumping between the two. Our new tools are also available directly in both the Claude and OpenAI marketplaces. 🎉
What's new?
- Get Whiteboard IDs: Extract the unique whiteboard ID of any board attached to a Wrike task, then pass it to the Klaxoon MCP to act on that specific board.
- Attach/Detach via API: AI agents and developers can now programmatically attach or detach Klaxoon whiteboards to/from Wrike tasks or projects.
- Seamless cross-tool workflows: Agents can jump between a Wrike task and its attached whiteboard without losing context.
- A Fresh New Look for Wrike Is Coming! 🎨
We're excited to pull back the curtain on an early preview of a fresh new look and feel for the Wrike workspace, designed to feel more modern, approachable, and clear.
Best of all, these are visual changes only, so everything stays right where you expect it.
The new look is completely opt-in, and you can switch it on or off anytime from the Appearance screen.
What's new?
- Softer, friendlier shapes, cleaner iconography, and a more vibrant illustration style.
- A refreshed primary layout and updated Desktop App toolbar.
- Deeper theme personalization and a unified dark mode across themes.
- Clearer selection highlights for easier navigation.
Rollout Plan: We're rolling out the beta gradually over the coming months, with general availability planned for 2027. Since the opt-in banner is arriving in phases, you might not see it right away - hang tight! Want in early? Let us know in the Community Post comments.
