Allow "and/or" approver selection - Multiple approvers when only one is needed

I'd like to be able to add multiple optional approvers to a task/project without requiring that all of them approve the task/project for it to continue. This would be useful for example when a manager is out of office and their designated backup can cover for them.

Some tasks just need someone to approve, and it's not critical that it's a specific person.

Approval could even be assigned to a group of managers, when only one of them is needed.

Adding this "and/or" functionality would preserve the current approach when multiple approvals are mos appropriate, while also allowing flexibility in the approvals process.

This would be super helpful for us as well. We have an approval process where the final approval could come from either of 2 team members. It doesn't matter which one approves, we just need approval from 1. Right now we are having to assign them both and then wait for both approvals.

It would be very uself indeed, We have Engineering Change that sometimes required the approval of one person only but that is different for each case.
I am also surprise that Wrike didn't make it possible for a group of users

something similar would be great for my org as well.

In our case, we would like the ability for approval to be reached once a majority of the approvers approve. So if 3/5 have approved, the request is now approved. If only 2/5 approve, it gets rejected.

Another upvote for a "1 out of many" approval system please. You could even have the notion of approval groups for this. And then set the 'pass count' for that group. So approval would go to QA for example, and anyone in that group could approve - and it would require a minimum level to be considered fully approved.

I also would like the ability to only need one approver to approve an approval. I add multiple approvers to an approval because they all should be aware and have authority to approve the task. The fact that all of them need to approve it in order for the task to be considered approved slows down the whole process. If I could specify only 1 out the 2 approvers is needed that would speed up our workflow.

I would also find this extremely helpful. Especially when the primary approver is on PTO, it would allow us to have secondary approvers available to keep projects moving, especially for the intake of new projects!

Yes, I too am looking for this. In our intake we have 2 people that can review tasks, and either can approve. I too find the AND limiting. One thought I had is that assigning a group as an approver then you could have any 1 person in that group be an approver.

I think that adding more functionality to approvals is imperative to allow your product to compete in the marketplace. I have used other, similar products, that allow multiple types of approvals.

I am specifically looking for the ability to add a pool of approvers for a single approval step and if one of the approvers approves it, it will continue to the next step. I have seen this referred to as an "OR" approval (meaning, if there is a group of approvers for a single approval step, 1 approver could approve the step OR another approver could approve the step in order for it to continue to the next step).

This is different than the existing type of approval you have implemented, which many call an "AND" approval (meaning, if there is a group of approvers for a single approval step, 1 of the approvers needs to approve the step AND all of the other approvers need to approve the step as well in order to continue to the next step).
