TL;DR: Wrike's main navigation lives in the sidebar on the left. From there you can access your spaces, folders, projects, tasks, dashboards, reports, search, inbox, and more. Once you understand the sidebar, you can get anywhere in Wrike.
Hey Community! If you've just logged into Wrike for the first time, it can feel like a lot. Here's a quick guide to help you find your way around.
The sidebar is your home base 🏠
The sidebar is the main navigation hub in Wrike. Everything you need is accessible from here.
What you'll find in the sidebar
Section | What it does |

Profile picture | Access settings, recycle bin, themes |
Search | Find tasks, projects, folders or users |
Inbox | See notifications and updates |
My To-Do | Your personal task list |
Created by me | Quick access to items you created |
Starred tasks | Tasks you've starred for quick access |
Tools | Dashboards, Reports, Calendars, Timesheets, Workload, Request Forms |
Pinned items | Anything you've pinned for quick access |
Spaces | Your team's workspaces with folders, projects, and tasks inside |
1. How to show or hide the sidebar
- Click the hamburger icon (☰) in the top left to show the sidebar
- Click the left arrow to hide the sidebar
- When collapsed, hover your cursor to the left edge to temporarily show it
2. How to search in Wrike
- Click the Search icon in the sidebar, or
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + K (Windows) or Cmd + K (Mac)
- Search works from anywhere in Wrike
3. How to switch between Spaces
- In the sidebar, you can view all your Spaces at once or one Space at a time
- Click on a Space name to open it and see its folders and projects
- Use the dropdown to switch between Spaces quickly
4. How to find your tasks
- Open My To-Do in the sidebar to see all tasks assigned to you in one place
- Click Created by me in the sidebar to see items you created
- Check your Inbox for notifications and updates assigned to you
- Use Starred tasks for items you've bookmarked
- Open a Space and navigate to the folder or project where your tasks live
Quick tips for new users
- Pin important items - right-click any folder, project, or dashboard and select Pin for quick access
- Customize your sidebar - click More at the bottom of the tools section, then Customize menu to show or hide tools
- Use keyboard shortcuts - Ctrl + K / Cmd + K for search is the fastest way to find anything
