TL;DR: You can now create and edit Wrike AI agents through a simple chat conversation instead of filling out setup forms. Just describe what you want to automate in natural language, and the conversational builder will handle the mechanics, mapping everything perfectly to your specific custom fields and workflows. Available on Business plans and above.
Hi Community! 👋
Wrike AI agents are designed to handle repetitive manual tasks, such as updating status fields, copying dates, and routing tasks. However, building them used to mean starting from scratch and needing to know the exact triggers, scopes, and actions before you began.
To simplify this process, we have shifted from setup forms to a conversational approach. Now you can build and configure an agent simply by describing what you want it to do
How the Conversational Builder Works 👇
Instead of requiring you to fill out a form, Wrike guides you through a step-by-step chat to configure your agent.
💬 It starts a conversation
You can describe your goal in plain terms, such as: "I want my project status to stay accurate." The builder then asks specific questions to establish the mechanics, such as whether the agent should run on a schedule or when a task is completed, and whether it applies to a single folder or a whole project. Each answer determines the next question.
🗺️ It references your actual Wrike workspace
The builder reviews how your specific space is set up, including your custom fields, workflows, and item types. When it suggests an action, it uses your actual field names rather than generic examples so the agent matches how your team works.
🛑 It clarifies what is possible
If you request a capability that agents do not currently support, the builder will let you know immediately. It will then offer the closest working alternative and explain the difference, ensuring that any agent you build will run successfully.
⚡ Build, save, and turn it on in the chat
Once the conversation is complete, the full agent is displayed with all its triggers and actions. You can review the details, make changes, save the agent, and turn it on directly within the chat window. No changes apply to your live workspace until you choose to activate it.
What to Build First 💡
You don't need to be an expert to get started. Here are a few quick, highly useful agent workflows teams are setting up in a single short conversation:
- Status Syncing: Automatically keep a parent project's status field accurate as its underlying individual tasks are completed.
- Timeline Protection: Copy a due date across dependent tasks so that if one deadline slips, the shift reflects everywhere instantly.
- Instant Routing: Route a task to the correct team member the exact moment they are mentioned or tagged.
How to Get Started
Creating a New Agent:
- Navigate to your space's AI Agents settings.
- Select to start a new agent.
- Alternatively, open an existing agent and click Edit in chat to update your current workflows visually.
